Primary 6 and 7 Football Pitch Investigation
Primary 6 and 7 thought they’d make the most of the brilliant weather and put their knowledge of measuring to the test!
They worked collaboratively in groups and used trundle wheels to measure various sections within the school field. Once they had completed this, they were able to use their data to create a bird’s eye map of the school field and draw all the features inside it! This included the football pitch, the sandpit, the play equipment area and the running track.
They then took their learning back to the classroom and wrote up their own word problems which focused on area, perimeter and scale.
